Q. Can you come and do a general spray?

A. Yes we can help! We can carry out treatments and suggest non-chemical solutions to help you manage all general pests. This is called Integrated Pest Management (IPM).

Although we don’t use liquid insecticides, we can “spray” insecticidal and / or absorptive powders (or dusts) for management of a variety of pests. Effective IPM uses a variety of formulations and methods. Our management strategies often combine the use powders with granular baits, gel baits and pesticide free sticky traps. We will help you identify creatures that are beneficial to have around your home. If you have children or pets, exterior sprays are NOT a good idea. We specifically target our treatments into cracks and crevices and other breeding and harbourage areas. We won’t carry out treatments for beneficial spiders, however can help with management strategies for the more dangerous spiders (eg. red backs and funnel webs).

Q. Everything looks OK, how do I know if I have termites?

A. You may not see any signs of termites until it’s too late. The only way you can be really sure you don’t have termites is to have an annual Timber Pest Inspection by a qualified timber pest inspector from Systems.

Q. How is Systems different to other pest management companies?

A. We are environmental scientists with special training in this field. We are committed to making a difference and our focus is on risk reduction. Unlike other companies, we put your health and environment first.

Q. If Systems doesn’t use chemical sprays, what do you use and does it work?

A. We design a pest management strategy that focuses on non-chemical controls. That means no sprays. The strategy will be designed specifically for your problems and needs. We may use localised low-hazard treatments for certain pests. We have thousands of satisfied customers. If our approach didn’t work, we wouldn’t have been in business for over 30 years.

Q. What’s the first step?

A The first step is a thorough, detailed, systematic inspection by Systems.

Q. How long does it take?

A. Depending on the site, the first inspection for timber pests will take around 2 to 3 hours.

Q. Will I get value for money?

A. Yes! What is your home worth? Can you afford to not give your home a yearly safety check. It’s a critical part of maintaining your home. Contact our office for a free phone or email quotation.

Q. Does Systems come to my area?

A. Wherever you are, we’ll come to you. We regularly service clients throughout the greater Sydney region, from the upper Illawarra to the Central Coast, from the Coast to Blackheath and beyond and can visit other regions as required.

Q. Will I have to leave the premises during the inspection / treatment?

A. Not usually. Most work can be undertaken with you at home.

Q. What pests does Systems deal with?

A. Pests are simply creatures in the wrong place at the wrong time. We have on-site action plans for termites, borers, fungal decay, cockroaches, ants and rodents. We will provide free DIY information for other pests including spiders, fleas, silverfish etc.

Q. I’m building a new house, or extending my current house. Should I get a chemical barrier?

A. NO. There are more sustainable, less hazardous options for new building work. It is best to focus on an appropriate design to build out pest problems in a non-chemical way. Phone or email our office to discuss Minimum Termite Risk (MTR) Construction Strategies.

Q. Do you have an environmental sustainability policy?

A. Yes!
